A Common Management Culture

In this project, the goal was to create a common management culture for one of the leading financial institutions. The scope of the project included the merger of two major financial institutions and the planning of the subsequent change process. The fundamental objectives were to share expected management competencies by way of a training program for all managers based on the new institution’s competencies and to provide an infrastructure by offering competency tools they can use on a daily basis. The quite intensive and interactive training program was designed to include practical applications of the tools presented. The program scope included managers in all levels of the institution.

During the project initiation phase, Management Centre Türkiye (MCT) consultants visited the branch offices and organized workshop activities with management groups at all levels. They also contributed to the design phase with best practices in their areas of expertise.

By working on establishing a common language and a shared message, a nine-person team of Management Centre Türkiye (MCT) consultants achieved one of the key success factors of these kinds of projects.

As with all great projects by Management Centre Türkiye (MCT), internal communications and use of visuals were at the forefront, such as creating project-specific names and identities, preparing newspaper announcements for the launch and developing a project-specific website.

In addition, brand-new participants and classroom materials were developed. After the project was complete, Management Centre Türkiye (MCT) received congratulatory and supportive messages from the institution’s senior management, who observed the project’s contribution to their management culture.
